OpenToBites Community Guidelines

OpenToBites is for friendly meal company — not dating, solicitation, or pressure. These Guidelines are part of our Terms and Conditions and help keep the app respectful, simple, and safe.

1. Meet in public places

Meals should happen in public restaurants or public food venues. Arrange your own transportation, keep control of your belongings, and leave any situation that feels uncomfortable.

2. Keep it meal-centered

Use OpenToBites to coordinate meals in public places. Keep requests, notes, and interactions focused on the meal, the restaurant, timing, and basic coordination.

3. Not a date — just a meal

Do not use OpenToBites for romantic pressure, sexual attention, escorting, solicitation, or unwanted advances. If someone is not interested, respect that immediately.

4. Be respectful

Treat hosts, guests, restaurant staff, and other diners with courtesy. No harassment, threats, bullying, intimidation, discrimination, hate speech, or abusive behavior.

5. Be honest

Use accurate profile and meal details. Do not impersonate anyone, use misleading photos, create fake meals, misrepresent the restaurant or time, or hide your intentions.

6. Don’t share sensitive information

Do not post or request private details such as home addresses, financial information, government IDs, passwords, medical details, or anything that could put someone at risk.

7. Use the app controls when plans change

If you can’t attend, withdraw or cancel as soon as possible. Hosts should use host notes for practical updates only, such as timing or where they are seated.

8. Respect payment expectations

Follow the meal style shown in the app. If it says separate tabs, expect to pay for yourself. If it says shared bites or split cost, only join if you are comfortable with that arrangement.

9. No scams, spam, or commercial use

Do not use OpenToBites for scams, spam, fundraising, recruiting, multi-level marketing, unrelated advertising, paid solicitation, or commercial promotion unless we expressly allow it.

10. No illegal or dangerous activity

Do not use OpenToBites to arrange, promote, or participate in illegal activity, violence, exploitation, drug transactions, weapons transactions, or unsafe conduct.

11. Report concerns

Report behavior that feels unsafe, misleading, abusive, inappropriate, or against these Guidelines. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

12. Consequences

Violations may lead to content removal, feature limits, account suspension, account termination, or other action. Serious issues may be reported to law enforcement where required or appropriate.

13. Updates

We may update these Guidelines from time to time. The “Last updated” date will show when changes were made.

14. Simple rule

Be considerate. Keep it friendly. Make the meal the center of the experience.
